We have a hardwood floor that was finished with DuraSeal "Penetrating Finish" (natural color)- a solvent based "blend of oil and resin" - basically a solvent based oil finish.
It's gotten worn and stained in a few areas over the years, so it needs some maintenance.
The problem is, we're in San Francisco, and the product is not available here anymore because of high VOCs. This is the product :
http://www.duraseal.com/products/stains/penetrating-finish/We'd like to keep the oil finish look, but I don't think Rubio Monocoat or Pallman are going to stick to it - they need to go over bare wood.
And of course, I'd rather not sand or screen off all the DuraSeal first, although that may be the only choice ( is it ? )
Anyone have any ideas of what could be used ?
Thanks,
Kent
