 Post subject: Optional Shoe for Porta Nails 470 TL

Do I need the optional $50 "PreFinished" shoe for my Porta Nails Hammerhead 470 TL? It would appear to me as if this option is unnecessary? The shoe is suppose to prevent scratching the surface of prefinished floors. The way the nailer sits on the flooring though I don't see why I need this optional shoe? It all looks good to me? I am putting down 1,000 square feet of prefinished Australian Cypress or Hickory?
