Hello! I am going to have Anderson's Della Mano (Maple) installed in my home on the first floor and stairway. I have carpet that will be pulled up, as well as tile, where it is going to go. Concrete Slab and we live in Florida. It will be in the kitchen as well.

I am getting all sorts of opinions on glue. I have heard that Bostik's BST or Best is the way to go, but the place I am going to purchase the floor from advises Mapei 975. I have not seen anything on the board about this particular line of Mapei, and wondered if you had opinions on it. Or what would you recommend? (They want to charge $582 for approximately 1,351 square feet of wood to be installed, by the way.)

Thank you for any help or insight you can offer.
Tracy

BST is good but the mapei is relatively new. I like to wait on those newer products to see what horror stroies may arise. But if your in florida your going to need moisture testing done and a trowel on moisture mitigation system like Bostik MVP4 or better depending on the levels of moisture in the slab. Don't just take anyones word that it looks dry or that their moisture meter will tell you how wet it is. Find someone that can do a relative humidity test, actually I like doing both the rh test and calcium chloride tests on slabs that read high.

Oh and make sure you use the same manufacturers system so the mitigation system is compatable with the glue. Good luck.
