I need a moderate price engineered wood floor (on slab) light colored in a matte or non shiny finish. I can't afford high end products. Got dog and 6 year old. Small condo in CA north of SF. Looking at light woods. Leaning to golden colored stained maple. Anyone have opinions on the Millstone Product Wheat Maple or Elegance Product San Simone Maple. They are from China so I imagine its a Chinese maple and maybe not as hard as North America. I have heard that some Chinese products are good and some bad. How do I tell the difference? Open to other suggestions. I am pretty environmentally orientedand want something with low formaldhyde which supposedly most flooring in CA is now supposed to be according to our CARB regulations. I don't recommend any Chinese wood flooring, specially the ones in Box stores. They (engineered) are notorious for failing in dry zones and denying claims. Get a laminate, Wilsonart going to stop making their laminate and is dumping it's inventory in a day or so (stop order) but they are still in business and will warranty it.
