we are about to install some bruce glue-down floors. the tar from the old vinyl is still on the concrete. do we need to get this up? if so how do we get the tar up. i have tried a stripper, but it only got a little up. what product would work best or will the glue stick on top of this tar? please let us know because our trial run of trying to get it up was exhausting and full of chemical burns.

You need to rinse any stripper you tried thoroughly, or it will be the bond breaker, even with the floor patch skimcoat I recommend for encapsulating it.

After thorough rinse, ARDEX SD-F to encapsulate the asbestos cutback adhesive.
