Dear Sirs,

The old carpet and pads are removed and the carpet pad left many patches of itself on the wooden floor.
What can I use to remove the pad residue and/or glue that is on the wood?

Also, there are hundreds of staples in the wood.
What is the best way to remove them and fill in their holes?

Lastly, what is the best way to remove the tack strip that is around the room?

Thank you.

Try mineral spirits to remove the residue.

A staple puller, and a pair of pliers, works. Fill the holes with color matched wood filler.

Use a wide blade broad knife, to lay on the floor and pry against, instead of the wood flooring.
