Are you saying I can get the look of the older floor, but only after re-finishing all the floors at the same time?
What I said was,

The thing about refinishing is that it's difficult to match exactly a new floor and an old one. I usually recommend all the floors get refinished if a client wants a new floor to match up with and old one.
So, I did not say it could not be done. I said it was difficult. To achieve an absolute perfect match, the floors should all be refinished with the same finish products at the same time. However, if one does not do this, then the client needs to accept that the new floor may not match the existing floor perfectly. Depending on the condition and appearance of the older, existing floor, a new floor may be able to match or not.

Is there no tint that can be added to another topcoat?
One can tint a waterbased urethane but it still will not look like an older OMU finished floor. Been there, done that. Once a floor has been sealed and finished, changing the appearance/color is just not possible without a complete re-sand.
