Hi all I removed some 2 1/4" oak flooring to repair pet urine from the previous owner, I removed addition boards because of some loose boards and squeaking floor. I plan of reusing most boards as they are in great shape and long boards.

Is it ok to go back over the existing planks. They are in good shape and very sturdy. I think they are fir. Also what underlayment do you guys prefer. I've seen people say both felt/tar paper or Aquabar B

I attached some pics.

Fir is an excellent sub-floor. I prefer Aquabar because it is slick and won't stain walls if the roll touches.
