I am planning on installing some Bruce flooring in four rooms on the first floor of my house. It will be installed over a plywood subfloor which is in good shape. I have settled on a 3/4 Plank, solid hardwood floor. I am trying to kill a few birds with fewer stones as I have added a few saws to my tool collection in anticipation of this project. I want to buy a cordless nailer to accomplish the Bruce installation as well as a lot of the trim, fire place surround, etc. projects that I have lined up. My questions -
1. Can I get a good cordless nailer that will meet my finish work and flooring needs? Do you have suggestions?
2. To drive the nails through the Bruce tongue - are adaptor plates easy to find and effective to enable my nailer to satisfy the flooring need?

I appreeciate your help. JT

Hey Jack,
The only cordless nailer I am aware of is called a hammer. There are hoseless nailers that have very small engines that operate very small compressors to activate the driving mechanism. There are no hoseless flooring nailers. There are hoseless finish nailers and if you prefer, you can buy one to install that section of the floor that cannot be installed by a flooring nailer. There aren't adapters for finish nailers because flooring nailers use cleats or staples. Check this out.
