Hi,

I checked my concrete slab and it showed some minor lows. Overall
the lows are quite gradual and no more than 3/16. I wondered if I
could get by with extra layer(s) of foam padding to kinda spot "fill" the
lows without using self leveling compound. I am afraid that, if not
applied well or just the not so perfect thickness, the compound will
make things worse. What's your thought and what will be your
recommended threshold of depth of lows beyond which you must
use the leveling compound for engineered wood floor?

Thanks for your advise.
Francis

They don't want you to use more cushion, but something with less compression, like layers of roofing felt.

It is a pain over concrete. Screeding portland leveling compound is easier for me.
