We are installing Tarkett 9/16" thick QuikLoc engineered hardwood flooring. We bought this unfinished T-molding with the same height of 9/16" (the highest point measured). My question is, for T-molding installation, should the central part of the T-molding be glued on the concrete (if that's the case, then the current T-molding won't work, since it can not touch the ground. Then we have to special order some); or should we glue the T-molding on the hardwood (that way, the central part of the T-molding will be hanging in the air).

Does my description make sense to you? I am getting a little desperate here. I have to get this solved so that I can move along. What do you suggest? Another question is - do I have to special order the T-molding the same manufacturer makes that go with the hardwood?

Thanks in advance

They are always like that, so you can tilt them to go down to thinner flooring like ceramic tile on concrete.

Glue it and put weights on top to hold it down while it cures.

I ripped strips of thin plywood to fill the gap, so the T-strips touched the "ground" (underlayment in my case). Then I was able to nail the strip down, while leaving the fllor planks free to expand/contract. I think the same would work with a glue-down.

I am using the T-molding at the doorway where I am going to change the layout of the flooring (from vertical layout to horizontal layout). I can not do the tilting thing here, what would you suggest?
