We are installing a Brazilian Cherry floor (over gypcrete & in floor heat), and we have ordered an area rug to help protect it. I have read that many of the non-skid pads will discolor the flooring (and I have seen it on my oak floors), and I don't want that to happen again. Does anyone know of a carpet pad safe to use on cherry with infloor heating. I tried vinyl, but they don't recommend it with in floor heating. Thanks!

I have not found one wood floor safe pad that will not imprint in the flooring over time. Perhaps one exists but I haven't seen it. Even the ones they say they are safe for floors seem to leave an imprint over time.

You can lay down a piece of 6 mil , and put some berber mate pad on top ..
Put some duck tape on the pad seams .. spread the rug , cut the pad back at least 1 " from the edges of the cpt , so it will lay flat .. If the pad is sliding on the poly , you can double face tape the edges ..
