What's everyone's experiences and comments about non tongue and groove end joints with 3/4" hardwood flooring. There's a local guy that installs it and says the ends don't need t&g. The only advantage I see with it is that he can install the flooring a little bit faster and his cost is slightly lower. I personally don't like the stuff.

If the stuff is wider than 4 inches, It really doesn't serve much purpose. The only reason you ever see it on wide stuff is just cuz that was the kind of end-match machine they had.
