Hi to all, long time lerker who has tried to stay out of everyone's hair! But...all good things come to an end....
I am installing Mannington engineered hardwood 3" over dry concrete slab in a bedroom approx.140 ft2 . Ordered the flooring and have it acclimated as suggested by many although Mannington says its not needed for some reason. I was expecting random lengths in the boxes but they are all 43" with a spare short piece of 9" or so in each box. My wife wants the random length look. So....just want to make sure I am not missing something. Seems to me that with all the pieces the same length I am going to have to cut them to random lengths to start each row. This ups my waste by a bunch. Even doing that I end up with a fairly discernable pattern across the floor as all of the middle pieces are going to be full length. The tongue/groove on the end goofs up using the cut offs in the middle. I am trying to stay away from all the known asthetic joint issues and the one size lengths seems to make that difficult. Any comments really appreciated!
