Hi Guys,
I stumbled across this forum a few weeks ago and it is a wealth of information.
Heres my situation. Im building a house with hydronic radiant heat (Yeah another one) total square footage is 1,600. I would like to go with unfinished 3/4" x 2-1/4" white oak rift and quartered to keep the movement as little as possible. Has anyone ever had any expeiences with this particular wood and radiant? its quiktrak on the first floor and 1.5" concrete with sleepers on the second floor.
Also Im looking to get a feel for the cost of sanding and finishing, I would like to do the install of the floor myself and have a pro come in and sand. Could I handle applying a finish myself? I would like to use something other than poly, Ive heard of types of oils? what are my finishing options for white oak and how do they compare in price.
Any input is greatly appreciated
Brian
