Hi guys. I was just wondering what everyone thought about installing 3 1/4 inch engineered hardwood flooring on a 45 degree angle. I have read that you can start in the corner & work your way out and also that you should start in the middle and work toward both walls. Would this flooring bow back toward the walls if I started in the corner or do you think that would be alright? I think starting in the corner would be easier for me if I would get the same results.
Thanks,
Stan

Either way. Just keep an eye out for any bowing of your rows, and compensate.

Engineered should not bow as much as a solid...BUT it depends. Much of the out of alignment happens with the force of the stapler or nailer being used. Best to use some wedges or similar on the 45 degree angled cuts to keep it from getting crooked.

Some tips

I'd start in a corner with a 4-5 foot board.

I prefer to start in the middle and work both sides towards the walls especially on long spans (20 feet plus).
