We just had Bruce Dundee Strip Butter Rum floor installed on our first floor and decided to put down a few oriental rugs about one week later. Only after one month, I can see an outline on the hardwood floor in the dining room. This is in a room with relatively little light, so I am very surprised. My question is should I simply remove the rugs temporarily or permanently? I do not want to jeopardize the look of the hardwood floors if the rugs will cause this to happen. And, if I do remove the rugs, will the fading disappear over time? Thank you

I don't suggest rugs for at least a month, just for this reason.

Remove the rugs and let the wood catch up. You can use kraft paper and cover the other side to help it catch up faster and even up. The only thing with that, if you don't get it just right, you can have a dark line(didn't cover enough) or a light line(covered too much).
