I hired a floor refinisher. My floor is an engineered, hand distressed oak, originally stained and sealed with a matte finish. It is 5 years old. The finish was getting really dull and in door thresholds of high traffic areas a tiny bit of color was wearing out. I have never waxed the floor and only used Bona cleaner as recommended by the installer.
The refinisher used 2 coats of Dura Seal quick dry sealer and one coat Dura Seal Matte finish. Both were oil based.
The finish is seperating and you can run you fingernail over it and it lifts off of the wood. You can get it off in sheets. It's like the floor was shrink wrapped. I have no idea why it's happened or the best way to fix it. Help!

The floor will need to be sanded and refinished, if the finish is peeling there is a problem with adhesion due to some sort of contaminant or improper prep before recoatong.

He did a light scoring by hand due to the distressing. They are also beveled. I'm now assuming that there will be a huge amount of labor involved, including restaining and the refinishing. How can you get into all the bevels and depressions to remove the new finish that didn't adhere properly?
