We just had new bamboo floors installed. The planks themselves are pre-coated with Klummp alum oxide coatings (according to their specs). We have pets, and are concerned about "moisture" especially in between planks. Admittedly I can't see any space between them, but we dont want moisture to seep, and patina or warp the boards or worse retain the urine smell and invite future moisture. We are looking for recommendations on a polyurethane or similar coating system we can brush or roll on, to make the floor more moisture resistant. It was a nail-down install, of strand-woven carbonized bamboo.

Thoughts? Good experiences? Bad ones?

Depending on time of year and where you live, the reason i ask is the floor should go through 1 year of contracting and expanding before any work is to be done on floor let the floor settle first or could be problem later. and as far as finish street shoe is a very good product. floor ( must) be properly preped for proper adheasion to existing finish.
