I'm installing 3/4" X 2 1/4" t&g prefinished red oak flooring. I did the flooring in the 2 rooms on either end of a hallway. The 2 rooms have flush thresholds in their doorways and the rooms and hallway floor boards are perpendicular to the thresholds. I need to net fit the hallway floor boards to the thresholds by cutting the hall floor boards to length and cutting a groove on the board end. Both thresholds have a tongue facing into the hall. The last floor board in each row in the hallway will have to be cut to exact length in order to get a tight fit. Any tips or ticks for doing this? I've done a couple of rows and it's time consuming but so far so good. I'm looking for some measuring/fitting pointers.

All done. It was often easier to cut a field board to exact length rather than the last board in a row. A little bit of work with some sanding to fine tune the cut but all the boards and rows are nice and tight.
