My room is approx 19 x 19 and I was wondering if I needed to start in the middle and use a spline or if I could just start on the exterior wall?

Actually, only about 8' of my room is 19' wide and the remaining is only about 16' wide. My flooring will run parallel to the 19' wall all the way across and perp. to the wall that is 19' in one area and 16' in another.

When do you need to start in the center?

I don't konw too much about using splines so I was hoping I didn't need to.

I will be installing 3/4" BR111 Braz Cherry that is 3" wide

Thanks

If the room have a set of steps going down to the basement . I dont start againt the wall .. every room is different as to where i start .. spline is easy ..
just put a little bead of glue in the grove and insert the spline .. do it just before you nail the next row , it can slide out a little if it is just laying there ..

HI, Depends( don't you just love that) what the room looks like, Is their baseboard heat? If so where, Do you feel confident in closeing under the heat, confident meaning making sure everything tight.

I would have and ONLY started in the middle of the room or somewhat in the middle was when I did a round room. If the longer wall has the baseboard heat start their, run it across (chalk line make sure it's straight). Then turn it around and do the little section.
