We have new wood floors with water based polyurethane. my husband used endust and it has put a shiney spotty waxy layer on them. I was told by endust to use equal amounts of ammonia and h20 to remove but i read everywhere not to use ammonia on wood floors because it is too abrasive. the reason we used the waterbased is so over time the sun would allow for inconsistant shade difference. have we ruined our floors and if not how do I fix them and get rid of it since it is spotty. if I used anything to remove how do I apply it ? do I scrub it off? help! also what should i use to clean water based in the future? thanks lynn

I would use Bona Cleaner for regular maintenance. Good chance it will also remove the Endust.

As a one shot deal, the ammonia mix probably wont affect the finish if used quickly, and only the once. Of course; test your mixture in an obscure location such as a closet if available, first.
If it is too risky for you to attempt, try to locate a dealer that can provide you with IFT (from Basic Coatings).
As for regular maintenance, as Floorologist says, Bona cleaner is excellent. Also Woodwise floor cleaner from Design Hardwood Products is great. Stay away from that stuff in the "Box" stores that say "Great for hardwood"; generally, they are not.
