Hi, this is my first post here. I've been digging around the I-net looking for answers, and came across this site.
To post up the quick question first: I have a new construction home, that the flooring guy screwed up the floors on. I can't refinish the floors right now, but I'm going to refinish the stairs (they are beyond bad!). He left huge sanding marks, and footprints, yes, footprints in the stairs!
The stairs are Domestic Walnut with Swedish Finish. The finish is less than a month old. I need to sand & refinish them (no, I'm not calling the flooring guy back, he put 5 coats of finish on the main floors, and it's still wrong! I'll take my chances and do this myself!).
The question is: Can I sand the Swedish Finish, and put a more common oil base Polyurethane over it? I've heard Swedish is not for the DIYer to mess with.
Thanks in advance.
