Bevel the edge of the nosing at about a 5 degree angle, cut the boards off straight but a hair long, tap it into place with a mallet (rubber tipped hammer) once you have fitted it into place and looks good (top tapped tightely togeather) pull it back out and glue the hell out of it, use a trim nailer to nail it in place, when you start give a tap down on it with the mall, nail, tap again, nail again. usually what I do is 2 rows parelled at an 1-1/2" to 3" appart and go about 12" inbetween them. Once im done with that I then run a center row, 1 nail every 12" / Basically an X pattern.
