The flooring guys came over today and told us we either needed to put 3/8 in. plywood subfloor over the OSB and then glue down the thinner Bruce floor. Or we could use the 3/4 in bruce floor and use felt paper to fill the low areas. I guess I'm thinking the 3/4 in wood would be better but don't know too much about all this. I am dealing with a chronic illness and it just makes all this so much harder to do my own research on. Please I would be so grateful for any help. I want the floor to last as we are doing this to add value to our house.

Kind regards
Char

No one can tell you what is best for you. You have to decide that based on your circumstances. But if I were choosing, I would take the 3/4" solid floor. Just make sure you check out your contractor carefully. Licenses, insurance, references, experience, etc.

Thankyou Gary,

We did this through Lowes but they sent a guy over this time that knew and cared. I also know that we won't be paying full price after their mess up, so I guess saving the money in the long run was worth the trouble to rip out the first floor, still I don't want to go through this again, thanks again

Kind regards
Charisse

We went to Lowes and ordered another floor, this time 3/4, 3 in wide plank. The difference was $4000, Lowes knocked off $3000 for the hassel we went through. Thanks for the help I have gotten here.

Kind regards
Charisse
