Hi all, Need help. A friend painted my stairwell and did not put down dropcloths. Now I have small paint splatters all over my beautiful hardwood stairs. The little splatters come up if I gently scrape them with my fingernails. I think the finish is polyurathane, the hardwood floor is a prefinished floor that I think the prevous owner got a home depot and installed himself.

Is there a better way to get the splatters up?

It just took me a hour for less than 2 stairs so I am looking at at least 8 hours if my fingernails hold out.

I am also thinking that I have to get the paint up asap before it sets....is this the case?
