We had a plumbing leak that ruined part of our engineered hickory wood floor; which is almost five years old. The insurance company wants to replace only the damaged parts of the floor with new. The flooring is still available. What are the chances that it will match perfectly and look as good as it did before the damage? Our home has the same floor throughout and has a very open floor plan. I am concerned that the new finish and color won't be an exact match.

Thats a possibility especially if its prefinished. All you can do is order it and if it does not match, then take it up with your insurance company for full replacement. Prepare for a battle.
