I discovered a water leak from water line to fridge...soaked part of my kitchen floor. Immediately put floor fan in it for two days, no puddled water, but a slightly spongy feel when first discovered. Floor is a discontinued Columbia engineered hardwood pattern, 3" planks, 3/8", high gloss finish. I've been given two options. (1)Replace all flooring with a new layer of 5" handscraped engineered flooring that will be stapled over existing flooring, (2)Have all flooring sanded and refinished. Neither option removes the damaged floor. There is no separation or curling, simply discoloration and 'wrinkles' on the pranks that look like aged skin. My entire condo except bedrooms and bathrooms is a single continuous run of the beautiful hardwood. Any red flags? Recommendations on selection? Thanks!
