Hi, I'm David, I am at the final stage, I hope, of a second attempt at staining and finishing my oak floors. The whole process was a lot of fun until I got to the point of applying the finish. I used Minwax Fast-Drying Polyurethane with a lambswool applicator. When applying the poly it went on kind of like syrup. The stain I used was Minwax wood finish ebony color. We chose this brand because of the color. Again I am at the point of not having fun because i need to apply the finish. would love advice on a better finish to use and the best way to apply it.

Thank you
David

Use a lambswooll..preferably one that is broken in already..if you have a new one, run it though a cycle in your washer with no
soap to get all loose hair out..(hopefully)

nothing wrong with minwax, but you can also use Parks which is available at Home depot too

Hello There You could use Parks satin oil based poly and apply it with a 1/4 inch nap mohair roller cover made by Wooster .You can get the roller cover from Lowes about $4.00 .Use a good quality brush for the edges ,but not more than needed so as to let the roller keep it smooth. The new polys are 350 voc which makes them very thick and they dont level as well as the old 550 voc formula which is still available in the quart can.You do just as well to roll the Parks out.Ive used it for years and it holds up very well. Cheers Mark
