I am looking to install unfinished white oak in about 500 sq ft of my house. I like the look of natural white oak but do not like the look of traditional oak flooring, I don't like the amber/yellow tone or shiny finish. Is it possible to finish white oak and retain the flat natural look? Also, any advice on if I am getting in over my head would be appreciated :? I am good with a miter saw and feel like I could do the install just fine but am a little nervous about the finishing.

Thanks!

You can buy presanded white oak and then just screen it after installation, vac and apply Rubio Monocoat.

I was expecting to hear about bona natural. Would this get me my desired look? I have heard oil based will yellow my floor. Is Rubio monocoat different?

Bona naturale is a good choice but an expensive one.Used with DTS sealer , it will be tough as heck and more clear / less yellow than oil urethane

Stephen's suggestion of Rubio MOnocoat is good. It's sort of like combining a penetrating oil with a wax.I have only seen pictures but it appears to be a very natural looking product.
