The way I look at it a pneumatic nailer works just as fine and much quicker. Something like a Porter Cable that shoots 16 guage 2" nails. I think Steve had mentioned the other alternative, but quite frankly I've never drilled anything in my time--just too time consuming.

Ya the nailer is fine or just use 1 1/2 inch finish nails and fill the holes after u counter sink them

Excellent. I will pick one up tonight most likely. Now I'm not sure if I should get the Bostitch w/ the power, or another brand with a larger nail selection. I I assume w/a 3/4" hardwood and 5/8" subfloor, then 1.5" nails is all I will need; or would I want to get a 2" for blind nailing with it?

And for those areas where my PC pneumatic 15Ga won't go, I use a palm nailer. I can get pretty close to the wall when I use one (depending on how close the last row actually gets). You have to pre-drill those though, if you don't want tongues splitting in the harder woods.
