:) Hello, I am laying 9/16" thick engineered flooring. I am searching for nailing options, does anyone recomend a nailer that will work for 9/16"? Will a nailer for a different thickness work? I know someone with a 3/4" nailer but I don;t want to ruin my floor. Thanks

Generally speaking, you could modify a 3/4 nailer to install the 9/16th product you have. Mechanically, this would work; however, the 16 gauge cleat is too heavy for a 9/16th engineered product and will produce dimpling along the surface of the boards.
For this reason, you need to use a nailer that fires 18 gauge cleats, such as a PRIMATECH Q-550 which is infinitely adjustable from 3/8th inches to 5/8th.

Most engineered manufacturers specs I have read suggest using staples. Thats why I got this: http://www.bostitch.com/default.asp?CAT ... ng+Stapler

Mostly because the staples are readibly avaliable at the box stores.

The only staples we use are in the office for holding papers together, lol.

Hey Dennis, doing a Mirage engineered this as we speak, guess what? I'll send a picture instead of writing a document.

FYI: Mirage is great stuff for a Canadian manufacture :P

Well you wont have any problems with that install, Im sure. Are you doing the glue down system or their newer float system.
Both of them have been good for us with little to no problems.
One thing, if it is their Sambucca colour, watch out for the micro-bevel, sometimes the black stain doesnt reach the bottom of the bevel in isolated areas.

Use the 18 gauge Bostich stapler.
