In our Bruce thin solid maple glue down onto slab, the intallers nailed ( and glued) the T Molding into the flooring. I'm not sure I completely understand how the wood and glue expand, but it is contrary to my common sense that the wood could expand it's needed amount if the T Molding is nailed into the flooring. The installers also nailed the quarter round into the flooring in a few spots. Does this matter? Will the floor still properly expand and contract with these molding pieces nailed into the flooring?

Thanks in advance....

Kent

Sorry if I'm a newbie at this, but I'm not sure I understand your response. Did the installer do it incorrectly? Can this cause a problem with the flooring regarding expansion and contraction? Should I tell them *not* to do that again?

Thanks... (sorry if this seems like a stupid question...)

There is never a stupid question, and yours is certainly valid. Tell them not to do that again. Never fasten transitions or quarter round to the flooring itself.
