Hello all,

I was wondering if 3/4" T+G Ipe would be best nailed or stapled. I am a little worried that the staples would not go thorugh since the wood is so hard (I would be using a pnumatic nailer) Anyone nailed or stapled Ipe before?

Thanks!

Well, taking a shot in the dark and going with staples. I will be using a bostitch MIIIFS.

Staples are fine for IPE. Just follow the staple schedule from the manufacture.

The MIII will shoot through it fine you may have to raise the pressure a little to seat the staple proper. It should seat flush to the tounge and not any deeper. If you seat the fastner too deep and put them too close together you will start to split the toungs off. Just play around with it before you start, get the pressure right and you should be fine.
