I'm a DIY'er, been in our first house for about 1 year, and I'm learning as I go.

I'm putting down what will probably end up being between 1400-1500 sq. ft. of solid Bruce 3/4" hardwood (typical Home Depot/Lowes prefinished). I've got a good miter saw and I'm borrowing a table saw, but I need to get a nailer.

Everything I've read indicates that the Bostitch MIIIFS is the way to go, but I figured I'd just see if there was any multi-purpose type of nailer that I could do this with, because I'd rather have a nailer I can use over and over again on various projects (like trim, etc.) rather than a one-time thing that I may end up selling on eBay afterwards. The MIIIFS can nail floor strips, and that's it from what I understand.

I've considered renting a floor nailer, but I like to take my time and not worry about paying by the day.

Thanks guys.

Doesn't exist. There's finish nailers and there are flooring nailers. If you want to buy a finish nailer, great, get a good one, Bostitch, Hitatchi or Senco. If you don't want to buy a flooring nailer, you will either need to rent, borrow or steal it. If you want to take your time on the install, buy a used M111FS then sell it again on Ebay. That's what everyone else does!

Just bought a Pneumatic nailer from Harbor Freight. It uses the same rebuild kit as the Bostich. I have layed about 800sq ft of 3/4 red oak 4 in wide and it has performed flawlessly with 2" staples. It came in the case with the mallet and 500 staples for 119.00. Go online to Harborfreight.com and it is there.
Good luck!!!
