Hey Guys,

We are getting ready to move our appliances back in. Any recommendations for protecting the flooring ? Anybody using those teflon appliance rails that allow the appliance to be slid out for service / cleaning ?

Should we place anything under our fridge or washer before installation ?

I am a bit nervous

You refridgerator doesn't have wheels? I would buy some 1/4" luan plywood at Home Depot and lay that down to protect your floors. Hopefully you have a circular saw to cut it to more manageable sizes. You can tape the seams if you need to.

P.S. Home Depot could cut it for you, if you ask.

Refrigerator wheels will dent the hardwood. 1/8" masonite, cut to size works great. HD has 2'x4' pre-cut sizes, so you dont have to buy a 4x8 sheet.

I suggest some sheets of masonite.

I picked up 3 packs of heavy teflon slides. The ones that disconnect and stay under the appliance for future use. I will post a review.

Thanks for the replys

You got to use masonite to get the appliance into position before you use the slides.

Let them do what they want. They write asking for advice and was told to use luan or masonite, then they buy those slides. Sometimes I don't know why we bother.
