Is this an okay forum to ask about moldings? Sorry if it's not....

After you install your flooring how do you get your floor molding flush against the wall? I have the nails in snug and in the studs but there are still some noticeable gaps (if you look for them). What's a good / inexpensive way to resolve this minor problem?
I noticed the moldings that i took off had nails in the thick part of the molding and staples in the thin part. The staples maybe made it 1/4" into the drywall so they probably didn't help in holding it tight.

Sheetrocked walls are rarely straight and no baseboard is going to conform to those irregularities perfectly. It sounds funky but pros caulk the tops of baseboards, especially if they are paint grade baseboards. It is normal and expected to have gaps at the tops of your baseboard moldings. Do a good caulking job and no one will notice.

Thanks, Gary! I'll get some paintable caulking if when I'm done it doesn't look just right.
