It would be nice if someone developed a snap in track for hardwoods like laminate has.

Yea, but they are real pain when working with angles.

I end up snapping the track on the molding before I cut it, or I cut the molding to length and the track about ½" shorter and snap it on the bottom before I glue the molding with the track attached, to the substrate.

I don't see the purpose of a track if it's installed already pressed on the leg as a unit. To me that would be the same scenario as using no track,( just gluing the leg). Maybe I'm not understanding the process here.
I usually secure the track to the substrate nice and firm, and snap the transition in. If there's angles involved, use a square or protractor to set the track.

Yes, it would be nice to have tracks for hardwood t-mouldings. Seems like the legs vary on all the hardwood t's , but so do the laminate legs.

Fixed a few of those glued in tracks. Construction adhesive or even PL Premium does not hold plastic or metal to concrete well.

If its angles I just glue it. I know what your saying there Ken. lol But on straight ones or even angles ones in high traffic areas I always bite the bullet and drill and molly the tracks in. The plus side is not having the expenditure on adhesive and looking around for things to weight it down..
