So, I bought some Greenwood bamboo from HardwoodInstaller.com, and the flooring looks great. I started working on the trim and realized that I don't have installation instructions for the trim. Doesn't seem hard, except for the t-moldings. They're too short to reach the subfloor, so I don't think I can nail them into place. I'm meeting the new bamboo to a tile installation, and my online searching has only suggested that I use construction adhesive to glue the molding to the ceramic, making sure that there's expansion space between the bamboo (or wood) and the molding. Does this seem reasonable/the right thing to do?

Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi Rich:

That is typical with t-moldings for thicker or solid 3/4" products. I would take a scrap of thin plywwood and glue it to the subloor between the tile and bamboo, so the bottom part of the t rests on the scrap or close to it. My preference is gluing but some use nails. Once the glue sets on the ply attach the T molding with more glue. Any type of construction caulked adhesive will work.

I hope you didn't find that other suggestion here. :o
