I'm installing a floating engineered maple floor. I was planning to use a T-molding to transition from the hardwood to a tiled area. The problem is that the transition is 88" long. The T-molding from the manufacture is only offered in 47" lengths. If I use a T-molding from another company (and try match the floor), it looks like I can only get it 78" long. I'm thinking that it will look bad to have two transition strips spliced together (I'd angle the cuts instead of butting them together), but is that what is normally done? These can't be ordered in longer lengths?

you have to use a unfinished one and finish to match. Ups will hit you with a surcharge to ship anything longer than 78" thats the main reason most trim peices are 6.5' long(thanks ups). Maple wont be a stock one i can about promise that. I keep oak ones in stock and they come up to 14' and order all types of species for folks.
