A Capella Hardwood Floor. Specification; Standard, Rdok,Brz,3/8Tx3.25wxrndml,1/8wear,sq Edg.
The flooring has been installed on a concrete slab that previously had carpeting installed with no problems of moisture
ever noticed. The installation was completed about a year and a half ago and has begun to show dark spots and mold growing on the surface of the engineered wood planks. There was no floor preparation (leveling or water proofing) when the flooring was
installed. What would be your best guess as to the cause of the problem down here in New Orleans? Have you seen such
conditions and what were the causes?

Thank you for your reply. It seems as though I can't get a straight answer here locally.

Sincerely,

Brent J. Driskill CMC, IH[/img]
Wow, a legitament moisture claim!!

Do you keep the home closed up and the AC running in the time of very high humidity, you have in the Big Easy?

Sub-floor moisture is the problem, but what tests per performed. ??
You have two good inspectors in Louisiana.
1. Gary Spear
2. Ronnie Mayon.
You can find thier information at : www.nicfi.org
or www.Inspectors-experts.com
