Looking to install hardwood floor but am concerned about the moisture in the crawl space. The house is located on the Carolina coast where there is high humidity. I will get a moisture meter to see how bad it is. Would using plastic vapor barrier under my 3/4 oak be acceptable. I know most are using felt / rosin paper but would adding plastic as well be an additional benefit? Would it hurt anything? Thanks

The plastic vapor retarder is to be placed on the ground under the house.
