Moisture in hardwood floor
I bough 21 (540 square feet) of Brazilian Teak and stored inside for over a month. I had it tested for moisture and it all read 9. It did not seem to matter whether it was opened and spread out or still in the box. I began the installation and about two thirds done when due to the high number of rejects I ordered two additional boxes. They found two boxed from the orginal lot in NY. The boxes arrived in very badly damaged boxes. They were shipped from NY to NC. The entire east coast has been in drought conditions for some time. I was not able to get the two boxes tested in time to work them into the installation. I figured that if there was a moisture problem that it would show up in the width. I used a micrometer and compared the original with the new boxed. They both read 2.256 inch. From that I concluded that their moisture content was about the same and would not cause any installation problems. Was I correct in making that assumption?
