Hi all,
I'm looking at a house that is partly ply subfloor over crawl space and one room that is a slab. Hardwood has to match on both surfaces.
The typical solution here would be to use a product that is designed for nail down or glue down. Are these products generally suitable for nail down onto ply and glue down to slab?
I'm more of a solid strip floor person but the problem is the floor rise if I put down 3/4" ply subfloor on the slab. There is a sliding door that has a threshold that is about 1" above the slab. I can make a custom reducer that has a taper down to about 1/4" which would put me about level with the slider threshold. I have done these with tile floors etc. but this is a little different since the taper would "stopped" at the ends of the slider.
I think the solution is to make the tapered piece with "returns" back to the wall at the ends of the slider threshold, kind of like a picture frame but with the return lengths equal to the strip width. Of course I'm referring to a flush reducer. Does this make sense and would it look OK?
Thanks
