Prior to start job contractor sanded 1’x1’ square of prefinish, confideny declared grade 1. Installed new rooms and then sanded all the prefinish only to end up with this. Now they are thinking my only option is to darken stain. I was shocked to see the prefinsh average length of 18” and the new have an average of 60”. I think the contractor should have caught this, but regardless what are my options? They say “shorts are unavailable”, darkening stain only option. I for one think it needs to be torn out and back to carpet. Living out my years walking through this will be the end of me and my wife
