I am finishing the kids rooms with Minwax Wood Stain (oil based) and have to decide to proceed with Minwax special Water Based Poly for Floors or the Super Fast Drying Poly for Floors. I would like to avoid the more or less bothersome fumes of the oil based poly but I don't want to mess up the floor with some 'low grade' polyurethane. Does the Water Based Minwax hold up ? Does anyone have good or bad experience with this product

I installed standard Home Depot 3/4 solid red oak and live in Kansas City and the temperatures outside are currently 100 F if that matters. The vents are blocked off and I could keep the temps down at around 80 F in the house (I think)

I'm also wondering this. Any one have an answer? My local Home Depot only has quarts of the Super Fast Drying Poly. Will this cause a problem?

Minwax/Dura Seal has made several attempts at producing a waterborne finish. They have all been recalled at some point. They simply don't know how to do it.

USE BONA!

If the water based is not a two part product chances are it’s not worth the effort of applying it. You need a two part water based like Bona Traffic. If you are trying to get out cheap use oil.
