First of all, I'm a Finishing newbie in the purest sense of the term, so thanks in advance for your patience. I'm in the midst of replacing interior carpeted contraption stairs with solid oak treads.
I stained and then coated the treads with 3 coats of Minwax Fast-Drying Poly. The stairs look awesome (I'm a newb... easily impressed). I chose the Fast-Drying Poly after seeing hardwood flooring listed on the label. At the time I was unaware a specific Poly for flooring even existed.
Before I install the treads my question is, am I setting myself up for failure by not using the Poly for Flooring? Again, the regular Poly lists hardwood flooring compatibility on its label. What are the (formula) differences in these two versions of Minwax Polys?
Thanks for any and all feedback.

Flooring polys tend to be thicker. When the treads wear you can add another another coat(s). Seems everybody has a different opinion on what's best. I saw another forum where somebody did a poll and got lots of different favorites. Finishes don't last forever ...it's not a one-and-done thing.
