hello, starting a new Pine floor install in a particular room. my floor is constructed of the following:

16" center 2x10 joists with bracing suports
3/4" X 2" Tg for the subfloor.
3/16" OSB, underlayment which is approx. 20 years old.

I want to put 3/4 pine flooring down on the above surface. My biq Question is do i need to rip up the OSB and fasten down 3/4 OSB or Plywood? it has buckled and warped in a few locations. that would be easy to fix, but if i'm taking my chances with the 3/16 OSB underlayment, i would rather remove it and fasten down new 3/4 underlayment, but if i can avoid removing old material i would prefer to do so.

thanks

Secure and flatten the OSB, and fasten the pine using 2" staples or cleats. This will give you good bite into the 3/4 t&g.
