Am considering this product for my home. 1400 sqft. 3.25 in wide with alum oxide prefinished with claimed 30 yr warrant (whatever that means). has high ratings on the hd website. Seems like a decent buy for $3.50 sqft. Anyone have any experience with this flooring supplier?
Thanks

Ive seen their stuff from time to time, cant say much as of quality, I know its mostly imported so that alone make me want to say be careful. 3.50 a sf on a solid 3/4 31/4 oak floor is a steal if it is first quality. Almost all the prefinished solid we sell has gone up 1st of the year and is going up again and the first of next month. We are averaging 20% increases in the last 3 months. Its crazy right now people are starting to spend a little so the market is making a knee jerk reaction imho. Floors we were buying in december for 3.09 are 3.55 now.

Thanks for the feedback Kevin. The description on the HD website says this product is red oak grown & milled in the USA. So I'm thinking this might be worth looking at.

There's so many products out there and many manufacturers being bought by bigger companies that it's hard to know who is actually manufacturing a prefinished floor these days.

I would generally recommend looking at exactly how long the lengths are in the bundles and if they are being stored in a climate controlled warehouse. Some homeowners don't realize that they are sometimes getting a product that has all short and medium length boards so check that first .

As far as 30 year warranties, no finish will last 30 years if you walk on the floors daily. And while many aluminum oxide finishes are very hard and tough, the finishes tend to be sprayed on in incredibly thin coats so there might not be much build depending on the product .
