I went to the Bostitch web site and didn't see where they offered an accessory foot for the M111FS. That stapler comes with a foot for 3/4" and 1/2" flooring. I believe there are after market adapters that one can get for these staplers but I don't know if they're made by Bostitch. Can you post some more info on what you're looking at?

Wesley, I have seen them on eBay. Seems to be an aftermarket item. I have not used one but they look somewhat awkward to me.

Thanks for the replies. The MIIIFOOT-Kit is listed with my Bostick MIIIFS parts list. On Bostick's site it listed @ $65 : however, from your reponse it seems this item is not neccesary for pre-finished floor installations.

I see they offer a conversion kit. I have two staplers and I just might try one to see how it works. Has anybody converted one over to a cleat nailer?

I recently ordered, and installed the "M" foot adapter for the Bostich MKlll. I was gettin ready to install 1300 feet of Junkers 3/4 ENGINEERED, and they spec'd this adapter. It cost me 90 bucks from my supplier, (ouch) but it installed in a snap, and now that I have used it, I will leave it on when installing ANY prefinished wood that I use my gun on. It has rollers that let the gun slide easily along, and (althought the added width will keep you from gettin a staple any closer then 4 inches from a wall) the gun will stand up without wanting to tip over, which to me is almost reason enough to buy the dang thing.
It keeps the tool from damaging the edge of prefinshed products. It will adapt from 3/4 to 1/2, with the addition of a shim.

With more and more imported junk on the market, the big foot is a must have.

Everyone who lays flooring has knocked a stapler over on occasion. I changed my air hoses over from the 3/8" heavy rubber to the 1/4" lightweight coil-flex style. It makes a big difference too on carrying that stapler around all day long.

A free tip (no pun intended) I use the rubber tips off of baseboard door stops and snap them over the bolt heads on my staplers. Duct tape looked crappy to me. I also use the tips on the male fittings on all my pneumatic tools, keeps the trash out.

SK, where did you buy your M foot? I'm thinking about getting one. I've got 2700 ft. of 5/8" engineered plank to lay.

I was able to come across something similar for $56 at nailershoe.com if that helps. These things seem hard to come by. The Bostitch web site has this listed with a price of "Call Us".

gary,i went to a home depot that has tool rental available. i asked the guy to sell it to me. he did for 60.00. its great for 5/8. it comes with metal shims. take off the 3/4 in spacer, add 1 shim and the foot. go to town. i bought it for the bamboo everyone seems to be buying. i read in one of your other posts you just use a cardboard spacer? the foot has the ability to slow you down some as opposed to keeping the gun in the air while installing.

My stapler came with a 3/4" shoe and a 1/2" shoe. I simply added some cardboard between the 1/2" shoe and the baseplate to have my M111FS stapler work with the 5/8" material. I do the same for 9/16 if needed.
